I had a really busy day again, starting with going to drag up ungodly amounts of mineral water from the grocer's because it is hot and nobody else would do it. Mum couldn't, and there's only the two of us, after all.

Then I got determined and typed up everything I wrote in the recent days, so I'm quite proud. Typing up is much easier in the morning, but so is crafting, and crafting is so much more fun! But I haven't started a new project today (tomorrow is another day, right?), so I devoted my late morning to the less fun but more necessary activity.

After that I sort of transcribed two YouTube videos - I want to start new projects, after all. Meaning that I made notes of measures and steps of doing the things and so on. One is the shaker Christmas box from a few entries back, the other one a Christmas pop-up card that reveals an amazing network of snowflakes when opened. I'll have to experiment the individual snowflakes before I'd get them right, but putting the card together is something I've already done twice, only with flowers instead of snowflakes, so as long as I can still make sense of my old notes it should work.

Then we ate the leftovers from yesterday (still yummy) and I took Mum to the new dentist's in a fairly distant corner of the city. Fortunately, she is the daughter of our old, recently deceased lady dentist and a delightful young lady herself. Mum got another tooth pulled, the poor thing, but she was very brave. After we had to wait about an hour, despite having an appointment. But that's always so with the doctors in this country.

Anyway, to celebrate the fact that she'd survived the even, we spontaneously decided to visit her oldest friend who happens to live on our way home from the dentist's. We called first, of course, to make sure that we won't be inconvenient, and she was really happy to see us. She and Mum talk on the phone every day but don't see each other all that often, now that both of them have become so old.

It was 7 pm when we finally got home (I had to drop by the grocer's again because I forgot to buy yogurt in the morning), and now we're giving suspicious looks the big dark cloud hanging right above our house. I mean, we do need the rain, but there is the case of the leaking balcony... If only the rain would behave and not fall in that particular angle! *fingers crossed*

That's the way it is with our doctors, too. I hate it. You are such a great daughter!

I dunno about the last part. I try not to be all too selfish, but, you know...
Mum did the same for my Grandma; actually, we both did, as soon as I was grown enough. Not that she needed much care until the last year of her life, but I like to think that we did a good job after she became bed-ridden.

The pop-up snowflake card sounds like it's going to be really neat, I hope your old notes won't fail you now.

It's nice that the visit to the dentist led to your Mom getting to see her friend in person. I hope she's feeling better by now about that pulled tooth.

Oh, you know her; she's tough. We're going back in early August and she's going to have another two teeth pulled.

Oh man, that's gonna require being tough indeed. Hope it all goes well.
