No, really! Going through 11 (eleven!) shops in a mere 4 hours, and that in a city as big as mine does count as a safari, IMO. A crafting safari. I was hunting for papers, decoration articles and the likes. No I'm truly and honestly dead on my feet.

I also finished the long overdue next chapter to The Book of Mazarbul and made the basics and some of the decoration to another Christmas-themed exploding box, so it was a good afternoon, too.

If you're surprised by the Christmas theme, well, these making boxes takes time and patience, none of which I can bring up while working, and they're meant to be sold on our annual Christmas charity fair. I might stop working on December 5, but I'll there at the fair, raising money for poor children, terminally ill children, disabled children or whatever organization we're going to support this year.

The only thing I haven't accomplished was to read at least one page of the Darkangel trilogy that is staring at me accusingly from the floor.

11 shops... I would have been dead after half as many. I tip my imaginary hat to you. Were you successful?

Oh, yes! I found some utterly beautiful papers with a Moroccan pattern, two different sorts of which I bought on the spot. They'll work wonderfully as album covers, I think. And I bought an acrylic white pen, which was outrageously expensive, but I can use it on dark cardboard, on which nothing else works. Trial run proved successful, so I'm content.

Oh yeah, sounds like that pen will definitely be worth it even with the high price. Besides, that pen is gonna last you forever.

They usually don't I'm afraid. Not like the gold and silver ones Mum bought me in the Netherlands, back in 1977. The gold one is still working!

Woah, that's truly an ancient pen! It's too bad the new ones don't last like that. I saw instructions before about keeping pens alive for longer, but it sounded likely to be a mess. Probably not worth it. Idk I wish I knew why some pens run dry right away while others last forever :( My nice gold and silver pens dried out long before the color was even half used up.

Yeah, I know, mine do that all the time, too. Who knows how long they lie around in some storage room before getting to the shops...

Yeah, good point. Maybe there's a proper way to store them at home, too? Something I'll have to look up. Although I already make sure not to store them near the radiator or leave them in sunlight or such.

They are lucky to have you and your crafting abilities. Your comment made me think about when we go on prop buying binges.

It is because it takes me to stores that I don't usually go into. It's all about the thrill of the hunt...

Indeed, it is. And then the lovely surprise when you find something wonderfully unexpected. Like the papers with the Moroccan pattern I bought yesterday.

I made a killing at Goodwill today. Two pairs of jeans and a dress for $16. My Scottish soul is happy
