And school's finally out! Have a fantastic summer, folks - I hope I will, too!

Here is my latest card:

I only wish Pinterest wouldn't change the method of uploading photos at irregular intervals and without warning. It took me twenty minutes - and a nervous breakdown - to find the latest version of the upload button. Grrrrr!!!

I had a busy day today. Against all hope, I've found a particular section of my original fantasy epos that I wanted to re-use later on for The Mazarbul Chronicles. It will be great fun - NOT! - to translate it from Hungarian and adapt it to the Ardaverse. But at least it wasn't in the tome that I lent to someone almost 30 years ago and never got back. Thank God for small mercies.

Other than that, Mum and I went to the dentist's and it seems that our fangs are as okay as it can be expected at our ages. Another small mercy of the day.

Oh, I love the card and congrats on getting out! I'd love to have a summer off. Sigh...

Well, the sad truth is that the authorities sneakingly shorten the summer holidays each year just a little more. But with retirement in visual range I can deal with it.

They have done that with ours as well. Kids here go back the first of August. We never went back to school until after Labor Day. Of course, they get two week breaks in October, December/Jan, and March. I think they try too hard to force kids to grow up much faster these days. When I was a kid, summer was for being outside, fun and games, not school.

I envy you. I still have two years to go.

I'm fortunate that we have this exception rule for women who have already worked for 40 years. Otherwise I'd have another 2 years to go, too.

I'm hoping and praying that they won't change the rules (again!) before I can retire. I've really had enough from working for a living. In my remaining few years I want to write undisturbed.

I wish I was still with my original company because I would have already retired by now. Sadly, that's a long time ago. At least I still get a pension from it.

I'm hoping just to spend more time with my big guy. He's retiring at the same time.
