Happy Easter, everyone!
Mar. 31st, 2018 06:16 pmSorry I wasn't around much lately - was busy running the very first spring session of
picowrimo. But I'm back now and have brought a few pictures for your viewing pleasure.
Easter in Vienna - Lindt Easter bunny exposition in the Gerngross department store:

The Coffee Bike on Mariahilfer Street:

Festive Easter windows of the Schokothek candy store:

Easter baking - Pinza, traditional Italian Easter buns:

Quarkkuchen, a quick and easy tart with peaches:

And the world's best biscuits: Ischler (a bit lopsided, but delicious):

Home decorations:
Two Easter nests:

And our full Easter exposition on top of the old cupboard:

So, as you can see, I was quite busy, even outside of
picowrimo.
I hope you all are having peaceful, blessed days.

Date: 2018-03-31 09:13 pm (UTC)Ischler biscuits are very easy. You need 150 gr flour, 150 gr butter, 100 gr grated almonds and 75 gr icing sugar (is that Puderzucker? 'Cause that is what you'll need) and a pinch of salt. Knead them together, let the dough rest in the fridge for 2 hours. Then roll it out, cut out the circles and bake them on 200°C for about 15-20 minutes, depending on your oven. They ought to be light brown. When they've cooled, glue together two of them with hot red currant jam and cover them with chocolate icing. I decorated them with pistachios this time, but practically anything goes. Once I used little chocolate heart, once silver sugar beads... the possibilities are endless.
