Belated triple birthday
Nov. 1st, 2017 08:19 pmMy goddaughter visited us today with her little son - just turned 2 - and with her mother (just turned 62) to celebrate our birthdays with us.
I made cheesy buns and a chocolate-sour cherry wreath:

The latter looked grand with candles on and all other lights out:

Unfortunately, it turned out a bit dry for my personal taste, but that's always a risk with cakes that need to bake for an hour or so on low temperatures. My guests didn't find it too dry; but again, they are Germans, and Germans do have a fondness for drier cakes. Ah well, at least they were happy with it. And lots of whipped cream helped.
I got baking ingredients and DIY utensils from them, which is great. They always make so thoughtful gifts.
