Origami Christmas cards

This is a pattern I've learned from my good friend solanpolarn, who has, sadly, vanished from this place for a long time.

These were the ones made by my fifth-grade pupils:

We are planning to make more of these cards for Xmas; this was just the first attempt to learn the technique.

Well, they could be better, but for the first attempt they're not bad. Unfortunately, I didn't have Christmas-themed origami paper, but perhaps I'll find some when we do them with the kids for Advent.
