Many of you have probably heard about the bus crash in Verona, Italy, which took place last Friday. It was a horrible tragedy, with 16 dead, many of them high school students, lots of injured, two of them still critical.

I was so shocked that I'm just starting to feel the true impact of it. I've made many bus trips with kids, too, during my professional life; some of those were 12 or more hours long. It could have happened to us, too. And while every single death by this accident is terrible, I feel most for that poor PE teacher who's saved several kids, risking his own life - but he was unable to get to his own children in time. How is someone supposed to live with the knowledge that he could save other children but not his own?

I don't know. The burden would be so heavy.

We heard it in the news. Such things are always terrible, but this teacher“s plight is too horrible for words...

He and his wife, both, were saving children, risking their own lives - every time I think of him I feel like crying.

Better health wise. I think the I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in this ongoing battle with cancer. The fourth battle, this time with breast cancer was the easiest to fight, thank God. And I am now on a once yearly screening schedule. I cannot believe I have been fighting this bastard for fifteen years and coming out ahead. It is a miracle.

It is. I'm so happy for you! *hugs*
We should try to keep in more regular touch - it's a shame that years go by between two contacts.
