Busy times

I still haven't accommodated to the fact that school had restarted. It's getting harder and harder with each new term. And it eats my time in an increasingly worse way, even though my timetable is better than it was in the previous term.

Currently, we're preparing for our annual ecology day, which will take place next Saturday. I've volunteered to run a craft shop for the kiddies, in which we'll make pretty things from household waste: stuff like Nespresso capsules, toilet rolls and the likes. It will be nice, but I haven't done anything but cutting things to the right pieces for at least a week! I swear, if I see another piece of knitting yarn I'll scream!

I intend to make these little hats with the kiddies where all you have to do is to knot pieces of yarn around a ring cut from a toilet paper roll, but if I waited for them to cut the yarn to the right length of pieces, they'd never get the actual hat done. So I'm cutting yarn like an obsessed in these days. *sigh*

After that, my 60th birthday party is coming up, and I'll have some guests over. Probably in several turns, as our flat is rather small. There will be the usual virtual party as well, never worry, but I've already started to make some food for the first party, taking place right after the ecology day.

I'm making small, vegetarian Quiche Lorraine tarts, as two of my guests don't eat meat. Then there will be little bacon and cheese pastries for the carnivorous one and zebra bread, meaning crepes layered like a cake, with spinach and cheese cream filling, and cut into small pieces. Then I'll bake small cheesy biscuits and one birthday cake - I don't know which one. Probably one that is easily made and not the one I really would like to, but I simply don't have the time - and the energy - for something really elaborate. At least some of the stuff I can make tomorrow and freeze it. That's what I did three years ago and the tarts and the zebra bread came out of the freezer as if they were freshly made.

I rarely have time to write these days; neither am I in the right mood for it. So, research has to do - that's writing, too, isn't it?

God, I need sleep the worst way. But there are so many other things to do. And I managed to get myself a sinew problem in my right foot, so using it is a real pain, too.
