Drat, is it July again? Where has all the time gone?
Well, at least it was well spent. I wore a lot, posted to new chapters to FF.Net (and forgot to put up an update alert here, due to my heat-addled brain), almost finished the little figures for both Advent calendars, so I'm not complaining... much.

The only thing I truly regret that it is too hot to do any baking, now that I'd have time to do more complicated things than just your basic Kastenkuchen. Since I'm religiously watching the Big British Bake Off on Hungarian TV (reruns from previous years), I had this mad urge to bake huge, beautiful, complicated things. Or small, beautiful, complicated things, for that matter, as I've fallen in undying love with petits-fours. But with temperatures over 32°C, in a concrete flat that swallows the heat during daytime and breathes it out during nighttime, it would be suicidal. *is crushed*

Other than that, I'm mostly over at [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo in these days, since I've accepted the responsibility for putting up the daily posts in the July session. Folks, if you haven't tried Pico yet, hop over and give it a chance, it's a great place.

Oh yes, I definitely feel you on the frustration when it's too hot to bake but oyu want to! It's not that hot here yet it's easily one of the most annoying things about summer.

I might head over for Pico this year, since I have some fanfic projects I should be working on/have planned.

Yeah. come over, the July session has just started, you haven't missed much. The more the merrier, it's always good to have new participants.

I took a peek and I think I will! Can't promise I'll be there daily as my writing is very irregular but it'll still be nice to have someone to chat to about writing.

We're in the heart of winter here; Melbourne winter, but winter nonetheless. I love the cold, loathe the heat. I'm rarely cold, even in the chilliest weather, but overheat instantly. So, I feel for you. Hate hot weather. Do you have air conditioning? Does your flat have big windows to cool in the evenings?

No problem. LJ can be weird at times but I still love it.

As for the heat, no, we don't have air conditioning, and airing doesn't help much either, as it is very warm outside, even during the night. We're sort of used to it, we've had very hot summers for quite some years, but that doesn't make it any easier. *sigh*

I'd forgotten that you make petits-fours. Oh my! I am very impressed! They seem like a real challenge, between the layers and the small size and the fancy decorations on top.

No, I actually never made any petits-fours. Christmas cookies are a different matter. But I'd love to make some, even because it is a real challenge.

That all sounds delicious (I cannot cook to save my life, but my sister who shares the house with me is VERY good...)

One devoted cook in a family is enough - otherwise you'd fight over the oven all the time. *g*
