But the heat wave is here, so it's fifty-fifty. Still, it's better to be hot and bothered at home where I can let the blinds down and suffer in peace.

I'm dreading the weekend when I'll have two 14-hour train rides within three days. *shudders*

Thank you, but that's not what weather forecast promises. *sigh*
I never liked summer weather, and in the cloudy past of my forgotten youth there were never such insane temperatures.

They usually are, but in the few cases we travelled the same route they always switched off the AC during the night. It was suffocating.

Oh, yes, it is. Especially as neither Mum nor I can actually sleep on the upper bed (she's old and I'm afraid of heights), so we'll be sharing the lower one as always.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that. :(

We're going to Transylvania, for Mum's school reunion. They've got their 65-year graduation anniversary, and she wants to be there, as there's a few less of them each year. I understand that, and I don't begrudge her the chance to meet some old schoolmates for what might be the last time, but it will be a hellish trip.

Well, who am I to say no? They may not have another reunion. Many of them who are still around chose not to participate.
