I assume some of you know A Matter of Time, my ST Enterprise/Whoniverse crossover story. It is one of my more popular ones, even with positive reviews.

However, this wasn't the original idea. The original idea was "Enterprise - The Maiden Voyage", of which four and a half chapters already exist, only that they haven't been posted anywhere yet... mostly because I didn't know where to go with it and how to make it different from both the canon pilot and from "A Matter of Time".

Now inspiration has finally hit. While AMT is fairly close to Enterprise canon, except that Time Agent Daniels is replaced by Ianto, whom the 9th Doctor has saved from the 456 poisoning with the help of Gallifreyan med tech, EtMV keeps the original crew (I only recast them here and there), but the whole settings are different.

In EtMV, the Klingons don't play any important role. The courier they have to take home is a Viseeth, the representative of a hermaphroditic semi-amphibian species that is as old as the Antosians or the Deltans. The Viseeth are the driving force behind the Vulcans who are basically their agents in keeping the balance of power in the known Galaxy. So far, so good. But since I went down the time-travel path in AMT, I was stuck with the problem how EtMV should take a different course.

Now I know. I'm about to eject the whole Xindi arc from AMT, concentrating on the Temporal Cold War and the forces behind it, while I'll eject the entire Temporal Cold War from EtMV, concentrating on the Sphere-Builders, who will use both the Xindi and the Suliban (in different ways) to reach their goal. They'll concentrate on eliminating the Viseeth from the game, as only those are capable of seeing through their scheme.

Therefore, the Enterprise crew won't go to Rigel X. Once they've freed the Viseeth from the Suliban Helix, they'll go to Berengaria VIII (the Viseeth homeworld), where a war council will be held. Then they'll head directly to the Nekrit Expanse to look for the Sphere-Builders, using the first human deeps space station (founded by the crew of a sleeper ship full of scientists) as their base of operations. Classic!Who fans will have their fun with that aspect, I promise.

As for AMT, a sequel will see our fearless heroes face some of the adventures of Enterprise's early seasons, in a different configuration, and the whole thing will end when they beat the guy behind the Suliban. I don't expect to go much further than Season 2 events, although the exact end hasn't been decided yet.

I confess I don't get all the references, but it sounds like you have a Grand Adventure(tm) ahead of you in your writing worlds! Bon voyage!!

Well, you saw Enterprise before I did - but perhaps it was too long ago. *g*

Thanks. I'm trying to find a beta for EtMV, but if I don't I'll post the existing chapter as they are. It wouldn't be the first time.
