New felt project

You'll laugh, but it's actually an Advent calendar. Now, before you declare me completely insane, I want to add that it means to sew 24 of these little guys:



They'll have numbers from 1 to 24 on their bellies, and from the back they're going to look like this:


As Christmas ornaments, I made them without the pipewire arms and with buttons:

as I think they look better that way, but for the Advent calendar I might return to the original design. It's a great deal of work, since most parts will have to be cut out twice, so I'll probably still be cutting in next month, and there's a great deal of detail, too, when I start putting them together, so that's why I've started early.

Our Theo will be over a year old by the time Advent starts. I hope he'll appreciate his prezzie. :)

How delightful! Can't recall if I told you this before, but my mom made some felt bird decorations of the same sort for our tree, and when I was a very little one, I used to take them off the tree to take to bed with me. [grin]

Felt things are very cute. And felt work is very relaxing... not to mention it puts the useless time I have to spend at school to good use. I mean, the empty hours between lessons when I haven't got anything else to do. I'm too old to waste the less of my remaining time on the planet that way.
