[livejournal.com profile] picowrimo starts in a couple of hours, and I'm far from being ready. A good thing I've already finished "A Matter of Time", which was originally planned as my pico project, because November is usually a horrid time at school, and I even have the questionable honour of holding a so-called open lesson this year, which means the parents can come in and watch the lesson. I still don't have the faintest what I'll do.

Also, I've just ruined my lower back again with a pinched nerve or whatnot, and let me tell you, the pain is quite spectacular if I manage to move in the wrong angle. Nonetheless, we had the frantic, semi-annual flat cleaning today, and despite the hired help we have on such occasions. it was quite the ordeal. Considering that autumn break ends tomorrow, I don't look very optimistically forward to next week... writing-wise or otherwise.

*hugs* Pinched nerves are horrible! Hope it gets better soon!

Good luck with a plan for the open lesson and for pico! (I am nowhere near prepared for pico either...)

I am so sorry to hear what's happened to your back! :-( And to do heavy-duty housecleaning in that condition...I am shuddering. I hope you can rest tomorrow and enjoy some inspirational Pico thoughts.

Not much of rest can be hoped for, as we're going to my cousin's whose wife just turned 60. Of course, they must live out of town, which means a 90-minute trip there and the same back again. With changing busses and all the joy.

But at least we get to see their baby grandson, born a couple of weeks ago.

Back trouble is a bitch. Go easy and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Thanks. I'm afraid going easy isn't doable in my line of work, but I will try to be careful.

It is. The worst part is that you can't predict which move would lead to pain in any given situation. And it takes forever to heal.

Have you taken it to a doctor? When I wrecked my back, I spent ~2 months in bed without seeing a doctor (because I couldn't get in a car), and when I did see one was told I could have had an injection which would have improved the healing greatly. But that was a muscle problem, not a pinched nerve.

Sorry to hear you're in such pain -- especially low back pain. I hope by now you've eased into picowrimo and that your back is improving. [hugs]

Writing goes so-so. The current atmosphere at work isn't helping. My back is still in shambles.
