We slept late and after a late and huge breakfast went on to pilgrimage. No, really! Linz has a basilica on the Pölsterberg, which has been very popular among pilgrims, probably because it Costes considerable efforts to get there. Valiant souls walk up the steep 300-some metres all the way. Opportunists like me take the Pölsterbergbahn, which is said to have the steepest track for an electric train in Europe.

The surroundings are beautiful, the panorama from above breath-taking. Mum was very brave. She climbed the 49 steps to the basilica from the terminus... and then back. She said this was probably her only chance to see the place and she won't give it up just because her legs ache. Which they do, all the time.

After that, we came back to the inner town and did some more sightseeing. The place is full of beautiful buildings, and not only churches. Then we rested in our hotel a couple of hours and went back again, looked at more churches and fountains and stuff, bought a few small presents for our friends back home, plus some utterly gratutious nothings for ourselves, and that was it.

That sounds beautiful and I'm impressed by the last 49 steps up to the very top. We'll be getting some photos when you get back, right?

Be careful what you wish for! I'm not a skilled photographer. ;)

Still, I am sure you will have some lovely shots of the beautiful architecture.
