This is my Christmas tree.

And this is my DD (disastrous but delicious) Christmas cake. ;)

That doesn't look disastrous to me!

Well, it is supposed to have the form of a drum, not that of a very bumpy mole-hill, but at least it tasted good.

It was ugly and uneven, the poor thing, but it tasted great.
Tomorrow I'll bake a cinnamon cream cake.

In the end, the taste is what matters!

Indeed. The new, cinnamon-buttercreme cake looks slightly better, though still bulging somehow, I hope it tastes good, too. Will post a pic tomorrow if my Scrapbook allows.

Doesn't a bulging cake just mean there's more of it? Can't be bad ;)

Nah, it means that it failed to raise evenly. Grrr!

Merry Christmas! The cake looks delicious and the tree is pretty. I like the little heart-shaped ornament and the golden one with the three candles on it.

The one with the candles is a souvenir from the Vienna Christmas market. We always put it on the tree.

How is life treating you? It's been too long since I heard anything from you.

I'm pretty much the same as usual. Busy most of the time and dealing with a chronic flareup of a medical condition I have to put up with. Winter tends to make it worse but I also have more time at home to get things done so it balances out.

Lovely! Thanks for sharing them. I hope you're enjoying your holidays.

Best to you and Mum for the New Year!

We have about 2 hours left until we join you in 2015! For now, our dog -- who turned 11 earlier this month -- wants to go outside, as it's our usual bedime. Time to head into the cold!

You Christmas tree looks lovely, as does the Christmas cake. Mostly I am commenting though to say thank you for the lovely Christmas card you sent. It had arrived when I was back briefly between Christmas and New Year, on my stop over to change my luggage from Swedish Christmas visit to Lake District New Year. I meant to let you know as soon as I got back, but found myself having a rather horrid cold which left me not up to much at all. Anyway: Thank you very much! It is a beautiful card.

Good to know that it arrived, after all.
