Feedback to "Sea-Flower"

It was very small. Practically nonexistent. Linda and some anon commented on SoA (hugs faithful readers) and someone who feels the need to show off with their canon knowledge on FF.Net. The latter had fairly little to do with the actual story, but at least they were enthusiastic about the topic. I count my blessings where I can.

Still, I'm more than a little disappointed. The story used to have regular readers on SoA - not many, none of my stories have, but regular ones - and I've struggled with this stupid chapter for so long! About a year, in fact, and I was quite pleased with the results. Ah, well. I should have grown used to this in the meantime.

"Adventures" got a couple of those reviews again where people comment to find fault. Apparently, my characters talk to much. Yes, they do. One has to deal with the necessary info dump. Someone else offered a more suitable word for something in the chapter, which is actually nice, but if they are reading (which I know they do), why can't they comment on the things that they like, at least sometimes?

Plus, even if I do correct the expression - which I haven't done yet, feeling spitefuil, but will eventually, b/c hey, I do like my English to be better than it is - the fact that I've made a mistake is exposed on the review board forever, since it is a signed review, which I can't remove.

Yes, I know, it's not a tragedy. I still find it depressing. Like the fact that they only comment when they find a mistake.

One of my friends read and enjoyed your chapter I know. I'm always getting comments on ff. net pointing out errors, so it is not limited to none native speakers!

I know. And it's not so that I won't be grateful for the chance to correct my errors. It's jut bloody annoying that I can't de léte those mess ages after I have corrected said errors. Yes, I know I am weird.

I'm looking forward to reading "Seaflower." I realize that, because I don't know the background, I won't catch all the clever details you've woven in, but I know for sure that, with your storytelling, I will still enjoy being transported to a world painted in rich detail and filled with believable characters whose tales will keep me clicking my way to the next chapter. Thank you for continuing to tell your tales!

Actually, Sea-Flower might not prove such a challenge; Tolkien told us so very little of Umbar that I can afford a bit of creative freedom.
