It's amazing how much slower ageing makes you. I had the best intentions to post here more regularly, just to keep tab on my own life, and look how long it has been since the last actual entry that wasn't an update alert! Sometimes I have the feeling that time runs through my fingers like dry sand.
Of course, working ungodly hours can do that to a person. But now we're having 5 days in a row free, so I thought I'd catch up with life.
Not that much would have happened lately. Well, if you don't count the baking orgy with 50 schoolkids - aged between ten and fourteen - in two shifts yesterday. Or the big, sodding house cleaning last Saturday. But now I'm done with everything, including my own baking and with the cooking of the EAster ham. Only the Easter eggs need to be coloured tomorrow.
In any case, I watched a lot of telly lately, mostly for the lack of functioning brain cells to do anything else. I rediscovered Navy CIS, and while I still get an allergic reaction whenever DiNozzo opens that big mouth of his, I quite enjoy the other characters. Gibbs, Abby and Doc Mallard are made of the win!
This week also presented us The Final Kalkdown - 20 Jahre Mattscheibe, for a full hour each evening. For the non-Germans among us, Kalkofe's Mattscheibe is a collection of hysterically funny videoclips in which Oliver Kalkofe makes fun of stupid tv-programmes, while performing parodies dressing up like the actual tv-characters. I was rolling on the floor. It's all over YouTube, if you're interested.
I made some modest progress with the 5th story arc of 'Adventures of a Consulting Time Lord' and am currently struggling to finish Chapter 19 of 'Director Jones'. I intend to finish the first part of that trilogy with Chapter 20, so finishing the current one would bring me a great deal closer to my final goal. I also took out 'Dwobbit' again, in the hope that I'll finally get my version of the unexpected party written... or at least started... in these few days. Well, we'll see.
