Posting woes

Tried to post Outtakes 01 to AO3. Followed all the instructions. The story ended up in one unedited garble, whether I tried to use the html or the Rich Text version. Bold fonts, italics, paragraphs - everything was gone. And people wonder why I prefer FF.Net. Still the easiest site to use.

When I first posted my one-shots to AO3 (haven't dared to try my hand on the multichapter stuff), I right-clicked them on FF.Net, copied and then pasted them into that box on AO3. Now FF.Net disabled the right-click method, and I can't use AO3 as a result. I refuse to hand-code my shit again. Don't have ten years to put the italics and stuff manually into a 20-page-story.

The internet hates me. Obviously.

Some sites on the internet sometimes, mostly, needlessly complicate issues, thereby frustrating users.

I think AO3 might have changed something of late -- cut & paste used to work for me, but failed when I tried to load my Yuletide story. Hand-coding the html is indeed a right pain.

I gave up posting to ff.net a while ago -- I just use cut and paste from Word, but that's where AO3 used to keep the formatting (I think) and now certainly doesn't.

FF.Net does have its faults, but it's still the easiest site to use; and one of the few that accept practically any fandom.

I got really angry with the moderators years ago when they filtered out various symbols, which made nonsense of summaries, section breaks &c. Also I intensely dislike the ruling that one can't post works in the 2nd person. Wtf?

I hate 2nd person stories like the plague, so that particular ban doesn't bother me. But yeah, the filtering out of symbols is stupid. I always use a string of asterisks as a section break, so I have to insert lines every time I post something to FF.Net. Still, for me the advantages of the site outweigh its numerous shortcomings.
