Abusing the computer at the school library again - this time to whine a little.

No, help guy still hasn't come to install my shiny new Norton, so I still can't use either my geriatric PC or my laptop, out of fear of computer viruses. And no, my shiny new iPod, although it knows lots of things, isn't best suited for lengthy reading or correspondence. Or rather my eyes are not suited to use it all the time.

Also, I'm still enjoying the wonderful side effects of a pinched nerve in my back. It's been nearly a month by now. Sometimes even breathing hurts. And I no longer can read/write/watch TV lying on my belly, which is how I always do these things. It's very frustrating. I'm basically paralysed. The funny thing is, I can do practically everything else - just not the relaxing things that I like. Grrrrrr!

And I miss my online friends. Where are you, folks? How are you doing? I can read LJ entries very well on my iPod, you know. *hint, hint*

Are you getting any help for the pinched nerve? It sounds awful.

What's with your computer guy? If you get frustrated enough to try doing the installation yourself, Norton has a bunch of youtube videos up explaining how to do it.

Though if you haven't done it before that may not be an option you'd consider.

We're all getting old together!!

The only thing you can do with a pinched nerve is to wait till it gets better. That, and some salve for pain relief. This is a problem I face every öt-hét year, but that does't make it any easier.

And no, I won't risk to experiment with Norton on my own. I simply don't have the skills. Or the courage.

Yeah, I read your entry about the complications. So very sorry. That's one problem I won't have to face as my original stuff was never and will never be in danger of being published. /insert sad face/

Never say never!

That said, my blogging of the experience is very much warts-and-all!

I really hopeyour back feels better soon and that it is warmer where you are at than here in Michigan. We are having the coldest, snowiest winter in recorded history.

Yeah, I saw the news, and I really feel for you folks. We have had an indordinately mild winter so far, only a day or two of snow, and now it's back to being unusually temperate. I guess being surrounded by mountains while having none in the country itself does have its advantages sometimes.

My back is a tad better right now, but if it will keep, I'm not sure. I do tentatively hope, though. The inconvenience's already lasted too long.

Yikes! A pinched nerve is painful, so sorry to hear about your back, and that the help guy hasn't been around to install your shiny new Norton (which reminds me that my Norton renewal is coming up).

I have a classic iPod, so I can't go on-line with it, but I do know how you feel about being with out your laptop (mine has been taken over by a family member until theirs is repaired) and responding on the touchscreen of my new Kendel takes twice as long to do (maybe when I get used to it it will be faster).

I hope you feel bette soon!

Thanks. What I dislike about the touchscreen is the fact that I can't use all 10 of my fingers while typing. I'm used to do that without looking at the keyboard, and clumsy one-fingered attempts are just too annoying.

Yeah, I feel a bit isolated this way. Fortunately, I've got 8 duty hours at the school library a week and can use the computer there - at least for my correspondence. Unfortunately, they've got Windows 7, while I've got XP on both my home PC and on my laptop, so the .doc files aren't compatible. *sighs*
