Four boys from my 7th-term-class decided today that it'd be a splendid idea to do a little vandalism in the changing room of our sports hall. They broke down all the clothes' pegs in a sudden fit of insanity. When the sports teacher and I went to them screaming like two banshees, they didn't even understood why we were so angry.

Now we are having a wonderful little conference with the parents *and* the kids, involving the headmistress of the school (who's not exactly my greatest fan anyway), trying to explain them why they shouldn't do this and why the parents will have the joy to pay for repairs. One of the stupid kids is raised by his grandmother and great-grandmother: two nice, poor old ladies who could really find a thousand better places for their money. Unfortunately, it can't be helped.

I hate such situations.

For other merry news, my video recorder started gutting the tapes I tried to watch (I've lost 5 freshly recorded episodes of "Enterprise" last night), my computer refuses to save anything onto floppies, and Yahoo decided that it hates my email addie and won't email me the messages of my groups, nor would it accept messages via email from me.

I think I've had enough for today.

Sounds to me like it's the kids who ought to be forced to pay the cost of the repairs - and I suspect it will take a lot of snow shoveling, lawn moving, and other such menial work to come up with the necessary sum! I hope their parents (or in the one boy's case, grandmom) make those kids do some sweat work to earn at least some of the money to pay for the repair cost, so they'll never be tempted to engage in such senseless vandalism again!

It sounds like Ithilwen has the right idea, what a pity the school can't make the boys do such work and make their little bodies ache from the work.

But really, I think you need to take a half bottle of whiskey and go to bed to drink it. Why? It's been one of those days you really want to forget.

I agree, with both statements. I really went to bed (without the booze, as my stomach can't, well, stomach it - the strongest thing I can drink is beer) and slept eight hours for a change. It didn't make anything better, but at least I felt only half as dead as before.

Good, you're a little better. I hope things pick up for you today!

What a miserable day! At least your Yahoo! posts seem to be getting through again.

Perhaps you could arrange to have your apartment burgled, and replace the video recorder on the insurance? As for the kids...hmm, cut off their arms?

Oh, I don't doubt that they can repair the video recorder. I'm just nervous that I won't be able to build up the whole system (with the satellite dish receiver and all) again, once I've taken it apart.

As for the kids... hmm, not a bad idea. That would be a solution for the problem of playing too many violent computer games as well.
