Thank God for national holidays!

The long weekend gave me the chance to catch up with my creative work a bit - aside from the usual household chores I never have the time and/or the energy during the week. Even so, I baked chocolate chip cookies and wasted Saturday morning on the inevitable shopping for groceries and stuff.

But at least I managed to make some headway with "Sea Flower" and did a great deal of research for "Beautiful Minds", should I ever get around writing it. Studying the British Government and its working (as it's necessary, Mycroft being the main character of BM, next to Tosh) is highly confusing. I hope I won't make any stupid mistakes.

Well, at least no real people will be insulted, as I'll replace the key persons in power with modified Whoniverse characters. But it's a very complex background, which will cause me lots of headaches in the future, I'm afraid.

In any case, the character database over at the Otherworlds Library Yahoo Group and I'm not halfway done yet. The timeline is currently 7 pages long, and there are always new data popping up that need to be added.

Also, Fiondil sent me an Adunaic wordlist and a PDF file that might help me creating proper Adunaic names for Sea Flower. I hope I manage to do it properly - what was I thinking, starting a story that takes place in Umbar (well, mostly)? I'm fairly good with picking up actual, live languages, but I could never play with dead or artificial ones on paper. *sighs*

Next week at work is going to he hell. If I survive, I'll tell you the gory details, honestly.

Thanks. I've created another data table over at the Otherworlds Yahoo Group and started adding the timeline records. Gah, it's slow work, but it helps to keep things straight in this confused old head of mine. Plus, the yahoo Database automatically puts the records in alphabetical (in this case chronological) order, which is very handy with later additions.

Yeah, I'll be glad when this week's over, too. We have our annual cultural event at Saturday evening - after that everyone will just collapse.

Defiantly interested - I have just gone over to join. Your annual cultural event sounds like it involves a lot of work to put together, but it sounds more satisfying in the end than my schedule (I have to travel a bit for work tomorrow, I have 2 meetings this week and two urgent projects on top of my everyday work).
