wiseheartOkay, we got sorted out the missing teaching hours. It seems that our boss has re-vamped the afternoon shift, meaning that ll those who work in the afternoon have to stay to 16.45 instead of 16.00. Which means that instead of 5 missing hours I get 1 hour overtime. They won't likely pay for that, they don't have the money (all schools got a 3 per cent budget cut, without warning - how lovely!), but at least I don't have to worry. (Not getting the hours means they're planning to get rid of you, so not good!)
So, I'll have to stay longer at school on 3 days each week, but it also means that I only have to work in the afternoon shift 3 days each week, instead of 4 days of Week A and 3 days on Week B, as it was the rule last term. And I only have 2 lessons on Tuesdays and 3 lessons on Fridays. All in all, not bad, not bad at all. How exhausting the longer afternoon shifts will prove that's a question I can't answer just yet - we'll see. For the time being, I'm relieved.
In other news, I finished Chapter 6 of "Atonement" and started Chapter 7. I made some moderate progress with Elfhelm, too; less than 2 pages, but progress nonetheless. I'll have to see how I can work around the new working schedule. Summer had me incredibly spoiled writing-wise. *sighs*
