Now that I've watched the entire trilogy, I still like the films. The kids said something about there being a fourth one - I must check it out and at least borrow it from someone. I guess it would be The Silver Throne - we'll see.

I haven't seen Dawn Treader yet - not sure if I will, because they mucked up the other two appallingly - but there were some very good things, and some excellent acting from the youngsters

Shoot me, but I prefer the films to the books - all three of them,. The condestending, preaching style of the books made me crawl up the walls, in whatever language I read them. And i *did* read them in three different languages, just to make sure I hated them for a reason.

In the films, OTOH, I found the adventure, the sense of wonder that made me interested in fairy tales as a child and in high fantasy as an adult. For which I am eternally grateful. The filming cast and crew did an amazing job, IMO.

I didn't find them preachy - in fact, it was only at the second reading that I realized what LWW was about. Perhaps it helped that I knew the author's voice, so mentally "heard" him telling the story
I'm "in"Silver Chair, but he would never tell us who!

Well, it's a matter of taste, I guess. As long as we can agree to disagree in friendship, it isn't a problem, right?

I'm reminded I need to watch Dawntreader. I haven't actually read the books (except The Magicians Nephew) but the movies do seem fun.

You are better off with the films, honestly - they are great fun indeed. Too bad that not all of the books were filmed.

The Silver Chair hasn't been filmed yet in this series (and there's no knowing whether it ever will be).

But there's another series - BBC's TV series from the early 1990s, so if there's been talk about a fourth movie, it might be their Silver Chair. They started with the same books as Walden Media (but combined Prince Caspian and Dawn Treader into one season), and they stopped after The Silver Chair.

The BBC series is much closer to the text of the books than Walden.
But naturally there's no CGI, the animals are people dressed up in animal costumes.

And since you probably don't know me as Varnafinde, you may have seen me as Wise Queen over at fanfiction.net.
