The lovely [livejournal.com profile] disthrainsdotte sent me Swedish chocolate. *hugs Dís. Mum sends her thanks, she enjoyed the first taste very much and intends to enjoy the rest as well.

I'll have to finally get my lazy rear in gear and think about Christmas prezzies, too. School was being so stressful this year, I barely went anywhere else than to work and back, so what Christmas presents I'll be sending out at all, won't likely arrive before New Year's Eve... and I'm looking at things optimistically, mind you. I wish I could send out batches of cookies, as they would at least be hand-made and with love, but customs being what they are, I won't take that risk. *sighs*

Another gruelling week to face, and then there will finally be Christmas break. *prays fervently* I haven't been this ridiculously tired, both physically and mentally, for a long time. And considering how tired I usually am at this time of the year, that's saying a lot.

At least writer's block seems to be broken for the time being. In the last two days, I was able to work a tiny bit on "Smiths & Joneses", my Torchwood story featuring the Doctor's daughter.

Wishing you lots of energy! Kudos on getting some writing done, while tired and stressed.

Thanks. The Torchwood fic is shaping up well enough; and I've been bitten by a shiny new plotbunny concerning Helm Hammerhead and the civil war in Rohan that caused the First Line of the kings to die out. I'm so *not* writing that right now! I scribbled down the basic idea and the first dozen or so plot elements, did an ungodly amount of research, including Fiondil's story that I've recently added to my rec page, and that's about as far as I'm willing to go before the Dwarfies have made some headway.

I often curse my lack of plot bunnies. but I think you have the opposite problem! Here's a vote for the poor dwarves, not that the Rohan plotbunny sounds uninteresting, but they need more fannish love, I think. (Though perhaps that will change with the film of The Hobbit? We can hope.)

I certainly hope so, considering how very few people showed even remote interest for my poor Dwarfies. I don't mean the pico crowd, they're always wonderfully supportive, but I got exactly two reviews for all the recent updates, and that's a bit discouraging. A Dwarf-boom would definitely be nice, although I fear that after the film the Net will be swamped with horrible Dwarf slash, especially the incest sort, as pretty as Fíli and Kíli look on the photos. Every other Dwarf, OTOH, seems old and ugly.

Richard Armitage, who plays Thorin, has quite a fannish following in the UK, so I expect he'll get some action.

I saw him as one of the main villains in "Robin Hood", and I also saw pictures of him as Thorin. I must say, it's a bit strange for me; most other Dwarves seem older than him.

I had got the impression, for some reason, that Thorin was relatively young to be in the leadership position, and that many of the dwarves in the company were older than him. I don't know where I got that idea from, though.

Well, according to the Appendices, he's the oldest of them all, save perhaps Balin.

Ah, I must have just got the wrong end of the stick when I first read The Hobbit.

Yeah for writing Torchwood! I hope your leg is starting to feel better - that can't be fun.

Definitely not! But I'm glad the Torchwood story has gained some momentum again. After all, I've left poor Ianto lying in a dark alley, unconscios, after a major Rift spike at the end of the last chapter. I'm on Page 9 now with the new one and hope to finish it soon-ish. Considering the total lack of a beta, posting won't take any time after that.
