I've finished "Sleeping Dragons 02 - A Big Fat Torchwood Wedding" today. It's got as long as 14 chapters (although the last one is only a short epilogue), and it took me a bit longer than 4 months to write. By the measure I usually write, it's quite fast, I'd say.

I loved this story, it was great fun to write, but I'm glad it's done. Now, I've been working on both the prequel and the sequel simultaneously, parallel to writing this one, but it's possible that I'd set them aside and turn my attention to other fandoms for a while. I've done too much Torchwood stuff, too intensely in the recent year, and there are too many unfinished stories in too many fandoms, waiting to get their go.

In any case, if someone is curious who "Sleeping Dragons" is supposed to build up, the chronological order of the stories is this:

Pilot: The Unexpected Rise of Director Jones

(takes place b/w Series 1 & 2, during Jack's absence - one chapter almost done, not posted yet)

Episode 01 - Everything Changes

(an alternate version of "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" - it's finished and posted to [livejournal.com profile] otherworlds_lib in its entirety)

Episode 02 - A Big, Fat Torchwood Wedding

(recently finished and up to Chapter 09 at [livejournal.com profile] otherworlds_lib, so far. AU version of "Something Borrowed", with a different bride.)

Episode 03 - Smiths and Joneses

(an original adventure that has nothing to do with Series 2 of TW, featuring Jenny, the Doctor's daughter - two chapters written already, I'm into ch 03, none of which is posted yet)

Further episodes are still in the vague planning phase. There will definitely be one for "Meat", and a very different Adam chapter, with a very different Adam. Other than that, I don't know yet.

The only thing I know for certain is that the "Sleeper" episode will be the big series finale.

Yay for finishing!

The stories that you are talking about sound interesting, and yay for bringing Jenny beck - she is such a fun character who sadly doesn't get used more in the show.

I'm sporadically watching Classic Who now (Tom Baker area). It's amazingly good, with a young Sarah Jane and, of course, the unparalleled Harry Sullivan.
