Arthur on TV

I've re-watched some 3rd season "Merlin" episodes today, mostly because I needed some details for the epic saga I'm so not writing right now, namely "Prince Arthur and the Quest for the Holy Grail". Of which I've just finished the first chapter. Erm. Yes. Still not writing it, just so that you know.
In any case, I still find the series endearing, despite its faults. Which TV-series doesn not have faults? Colin Morgan is amazingly talented, and Bradley James just is Prince Arthur. Having someone of the magnitude of Anthony Stuart Head playing King Uther doesn't hurt, either. For that, I can ignore the female leads, both of which I find annoying and poorly played. Especially Gwen. It's not the actress's fault, I'm sure she's very good in other things, the whole character is just badly written. Morgana, too.
Anyway, I did some googling for the oh-so-adult Camelot series, and what I found made me sigh. Naked bodies, effiminate young men in a leading role and gore doesn't make a good series. What I found interesting was, though, that - at least according to Wikipedia - "Merlin" got fairly bad critiques, while "Camelot" was welcomed enthusiastically.
Now, either I'm a really weird person with a really strange taste, or there is something wrong with the rest of mankind. Although, if the rest of mankind is what counts normal in these days, I'll happily wear the WEIRD badge. 'Nuff said.
