Food poisoning is no fun at all!

Neither is the stomach flu - whichever I happen to have right now. I'll spare you the gory details, but let me tell you: I never thought one could lose quite so many body fluids on a single day, through the most amazingly various orifices.
I feel like shit, I'm ridiculously weak, still nauseous from time to time, despite the good old activated charcoal, and it's hard to force enough liquids down me (mostly in the form of tea, which I hate) to avoid dehydration.
Consequently, the big house cleaning happened mostly without my contribution. Mum hired two women to do the work, since I barely left my bed since last night.
Between you and me, house cleaning - not matter how much I hate it - would have been the lesser evil. *sighs*
Edit: Thanks for the good wishes, people. I'm feeling somewhat better now, although still week and a bit dizzy. It seems I caught the one-day-stomach bug half the school has gone through in the recent weeks: you throw up and sit on the toilet for one day and are reasonably okay on the next one. Still, it was a nasty experience, but I'm glad I was the one to catch it and not Mum. Her constitution isn't half as robust as mine.
Update: It seems the joys ain't over yet. I felt sooo good this morning, I thought I can forget the whole episode, but it restarted around mid-day. Well, sort of. At least I'm not throwing up anymore. But there will be no work for me tomorrow.

Date: 2011-04-18 12:42 pm (UTC)Yep, it's a very nasty bug, and unfortunately, Mum got it, too, after all. Poor thing wasn't able to get up for more than the ten minutes needed to go to the loo every half an hour all day.
The entire family next door went through it, plus half the school, so it was more or less inevitable that we got it, but I was so hoping that at least Mum would be spared.
