I got myself some shoes! Yay!

Now, if you think this is the regular shoe tic most females are accused of having, you're wrong. You see, for me finding shoes is about as miraculous as for the Knights of the Round Table to find the Holy Grail. It has been years since I last walked in a shoe shop and found myself something to wear, just like that.

Fact is, I've got weird feet. They're short and they're wide, and due to a circulatory problem, they're nearly always swollen. And I mean swollen: about twice of the circumfance normal feet are supposed to be. So, as a rule, buying shoes for me means to go to Birkenstock's, where I try everything in the shop and find nothing. Then they order something for me what they hope would fit me, and in two cases out of three, it does not.

The current fashion trend to build long and narrow shoes doesn't help things, of course. So, finding shoes is a reason for major celebration for me.

But today, I just walked into this little Deichmann's shop in the Campona shopping center, found these nice little white shoes (actually, closed sandals) on the shelves from the firm Medicus, tried them on - and they fit! I bought them on the spot, and now I'm the proud owner of a second pair of shoes that I can wear when the weather is either cold or hot. And that before the only such pair I own would have fallen to pieces from the constant wear. Victory!

Yay! I hate going shoe shopping for similar reasons. Well, not swollen feet, but I do have wide feet and haven't spent years squishing them into points so it's hard to find anything. My bro has the same problem and his friends tease him for being like Cinderella. I heard that if you find a pair of shoes that work to buy a second pair of the same because styles change so quickly and they might not have anything again for a long time.

I wish styles would change any time, soon, so that wide shoes would become fashionable again. :(

Congratulations! I have problems buying shoes, too (long feet, hammer toes and narrow heals), so I empathise. :)

Quick! Go back to that shop and see if they can order you a few more pairs of that particular shoe, while that model is still available! When it comes to truly comfy shoes, it always pays to stock up.

I'm afraid I don't like them that much, to be honest. They will do for the next couple of years, but I'm not that smitten with them that I'd spend the same amount of money on another pair. I'll keep looking in the meantime. ;)
