Short summary of the national holidays

Well - four days are very short if you're having a good time...

My not-so-little Silvan girl was here on Saturday, and we had an awesome time. I cooked fake Chinese (without all the weird spices, just a good, honest garlick chicken with sweet corn and soy sprouts and rice), and we talked a lot.

On Sunday, we did basically nothing, except sleeping in reeeeeally late. Mum went to church, I did some writing, and we ate the rests from the previous day. I made too much rice (again), and so we ate the frigging rice for three days. We don't even like rice very much. Ah, well.

Yesterday, we went to the supermarket easy, because Hungarians live in constant fear of starving (you wouldn't think by the sight of the average population, though), and so between Sunday and a bank holiday, the places where you can buy food are practically attacked. We did the shopping for food routine, so that's settled till the weekend. Then I watched lotsa German TV, since they don't have any holidays and so brought all the programmes I usually miss because being at work. In the meantime, I cooked a chicken and mushroom casserole and we ate the rest of the rice. Thank goodness, no more left of that. And I did some writing.

Today, the same routine. Sleeping, German TV, eating the rests from yesterday and writing. I ACTUALLY FINISHED "EVERYTHING CHANGES"!!! *is proud* Work restarts tomorrow, and we'll have to work on Saturday for the free Monday we got, but there are worse things in life.

Now I'm attacking "Eye Witness" and "A Visitor from Avalon". No rest for the wicked.

Hungarians and Germans must be long-lost siblings because Germans are also convinced they'll starve if the supermarket is closed for a single weekday! XD

Thanks. I'm relieved like whoa! Even if I'm not entirely happy with the last few parts. I'll keep posting one chapter a week to otherworlds_lib, so you'll have plenty of time to catch up with the story. We're at Chapter 04 still, and then will come the ones you probably haven't seen yet.

I'm sure the last parts are just fine! Why are you not fully satisfied with them?

I dunno, I find that they don't have the same depth and intensity as the first half of the story. I don't know why. My personal favourite is Chapter 04, where I did the bit about Jack's childhood; to be honest, I'm a bit disappointed that it got so little appreciation. But again, not everybody is into world-building, so...

*comforting pat on the back* World-building in fanfic is just a "your mileage may vary" thing, I wouldn't fret too much about it not getting a lot of feedback. You had fun coming up with it at least, didn't you?

I did. That's not the point. The point is that you put a great deal of work and love into something and hardly anybody appreciates it. It's bloody frustrating! I remember while I wrote "Birthright 2", I created four different species for a planet that only featured in one chapter, and no-one has ever commented on that. Or on my avian species in "The Lost Warrior". :(

Oh, yes, I did. The only bad thing with the holidays is that they're over before you've had the time to really let your hair down...
