Holidays ahead!

We're having a national holiday on Tuesday the 15th. That means, working days will be regrouped (we'll have to work on Saturday the 19th) to make it a long weekend: four entire days at home! Yay! I foresee much writing and research to happen, but let's not makes plans in advance. That's the surest way to ruin them.

On Saturday, my favourite ex-student (formerly known as "my little Silvan girl, but she's now a head taller than I and had hit twenty in January, so that nickname doesn't really fit anymore) is coming to visit. She's in her second year at university and has just made her language proficiency exam in German. I'm very proud of her, since I was the one to teach her the language in the first place, and besides, I've known her since the age of 8. As she studies in a different city, I don't see her as much as before, so I'm really looking forward to this. *is happy*

I certainly hope so. She's such a nice girl, I enjoy talking to her.

I'm planning to invite her to lunch as well, I hope she'll be able to stay. I'm going to cooks garlic chicken with mungo sprouts and sweet corn anyway, so one person more wouldn't be a problem.

I second jenn_calaelen's sentiments: holidays and visits from nice people are indeed very good things! Enjoy your time off and getting to see your ex-student again.

BTW, Jillian, do you know that your e-mail account has been hacked? It sends all sorts of spam to both the Yahoo groups and to my private addresses. Perhaps deleting it and getting a new one would help?

Thanks dear, I did know. For 3 days I've been trying to change the password, hotmail's suggested response to being hacked. My very slow dial up kept timing out on me, but finally, late last night, I managed to change the password at last, and it seems to have solved the problem.

In a couple of days, if things go well, I'll post to all my mailing list to say the problem seems to be solved, and to apologise.

All done, I have successful; for 2 days no spam, and I have a shiny new password.

And no, I didn't mind being blocked, there were a couple of other lists (non-Tolkien) that did the same thing. :)
