I'm so very tired. It's the fourth week that I have to double for a colleague in the afternoon shift, meaning that I have to deal with two groups of kids instead of one. It's not her fault that she's down with pneumonia, the poor thing, but that doesn't make it any easier.

Not having actual lessons to give makes everything even more mind-numbing: trying to keep them from dismantling the room or to falling off trees on the school yard, and then making them to actually do their homework, while I have virtually no means to force them if they don't feel like it, and that three times a week from midday or one PM to five pm, after my regular teaching hours is really draining.

And if that weren't enough, a fortnight ago we had our stupid, annual carnival, on Friday, of course, which would be my free afternoon (standing at school till seven pm instead); and last Friday we had the oversight on the regional maths companionship; and this Saturday we're having our goddamn charity ball, so that the school could raise some money for much-needed stuff we won't get from the district that actually ought to give us such things... I've really had enough.

Cleaning the flat properly should have been done a month ago. Poor Mum does what she can, doing the small parts piece by piece, but a proper cleaning included dragging the big and heavy pieces of furniture away and hovering the wall-to-wall carpet, beating out the smaller carpets and all kinds of unpleasant things, so it's actually my part of the bargain. Only that I'm simply too tired to do it. We'll be eaten by dirt. *sighs* And yeah, the bedlinens need to be changed, too, and I really ought to do the ironing before Mum does it behind my back again...

God, it's so frustrating! All I have done for the last weeks was collapsing on the sofa with my Notebook and surf around the Net to clear my head from school stuff. I even did my writing in the rare free hours between two work shifts. Sometimes I wonder if it weren't easier to take a pallet bed to school and sleep there. Bathing would be a bit difficult, but other than that...

I read on the Intenet about this thing called sleep. People say nice things about it. Perhaps one day I can give it a try. When I'm less busy...

You need to take care of yourself and have a bit of recuperation, the dirt can wait for a little while longer. *hugs*

That's the problem, you see: it does wait. It stays. One would think it gets bored and walks away, but no...

Nice icon, BTW. More power to Carson!

I do like to use my SG icons every now and then for a bit of nostalgia :)

I take it you don't have any spare money to be able to afford a cleaner once a month or anything to take the pressure off you?
