The results came back yesterday, with all-negative resulsts, save one minor thing which apparently doesn't really count. Hah! I'd like to tell the doctors "I told you so!" but I migh need them in the (hopefully very far) future, so I didn't.

As my only female cousin likes to say: "It's the good, robust genes of our grandmothers. Let's hope we've inherited some of them, despite two generations of delution of the bloodline." *g*

On a different account, I've got shinies from [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris again, and am currently enjoying the second half of Merlin's 3rd season. Will summarize my impressions when I'm slightly less brain dead. School's killing me at the moment, and still no silver line on the horizon. *sighs*

When a negative is A Jolly Good Thing.
Well done on that - and even if it was as you expected, it is still good!

Good Thoughts for the week/term ahead.
Cheers :)

Sometimes being negative is really a Good Thing (TM). Plus, I've survived school carnival, which is another small victory. Now, if we had the beneficial ball behind us, that would be a Big Victory. After that, the rest will be chaos as usual, but that's something we can manage well enough.

Yep, I'm relieved myself. No matter how certain I was about my basically healthy status, you never know what the doctors find worrisome. It seems I've been lucky this time, though.

They will, since I'm gonna avoid them like the plague.

Hey, I've got new Merlin! With Lancelot, too! So, when are you coming over to watch it with me? What are a few thousand kilometres between friends? ;)

I certainly wish I was there! Lancelot's back in season 3? *squee* I'm only early into season 2 (watching it with Mum, who has also taken a shine to Merlin, so I have to go at Super RTL's speed.)

He is, and so is the dragon. And they have Gawain - although he's called Gwaine here - and lots and lots of goodies.

But seriously, you should make holiday in Hungary this year. For someone based on the Teuro it's still a relatively cheap place, and accommodations are easily found. Just ask [livejournal.com profile] the_wild_iris how much fun can be had here! (Aside from watching TV all night, of course...)

Oh yes, Gwaine! I have seen pics of him! *drools*

It would be nice if visiting Budapest worked out this year. It all depends on if I'll get to move this summer or not, I guess.

Either Southern Germany or Western (Köln, Düsseldorf). It's nothing certain, I've been meaning to move for years, really. This summer had been a time I'd had in mind - but daily life keeps me so busy I just can't get around to doing anything about it. Or, when I have the time, just don't have the energy to deal with that.

Good to hear that they didn't find anything. :)

That reminds me - I still haven't finished watching Merlin s3 - recorded it when it was on tv here. I probably should at some point.

Oh, yes, you should. It is great - save the stupid goblin episode. Plus, I simply can't buy the Arthur/Gwen romance, no matter how much canon it is. IMO, they have so much chemistry, as Torchwood's Gwen Cooper would have snogging a Weevil.

It really seems like most tv writers can't write convincing romance - although it would be very hard for that paring to be convincing...

Ummm... which pairing do you mean? Cause I totally can imagine Gwen with a Weevil - perhaps a blind one. They'd have bootiful babiez!

Arthur/Gwen ;)
Other Gwen weevil isn't that unlikely - after all she seems to want to sleep with anyone she comes across!

OTOH, Weevils might have higher standards, of course...

I'm glad I'm not the only one unable to buy the Arthur/Gwen thing in this particular combination. If they want to sell us the idea of Arthur falling in love with a serving wench, she at least ought to be beautiful. Or magical. A cursed princess who turns into a swan, or a dragon, or whatnot.

*laughs* Indeed they might! :)

It seemed much more interesting in the beginning when he was starting to see her as a person, but as soon as there started to be a romance, the plausibility fell away. Especially with the s1 she was able to fight etc, but after that she always seems to need to be rescued...

Thanks so much, hon. Anyway, as I posted to both LJ and the group, the cancer is back. I'm going back under the knife next month to deal with it. At least this time the docs say that I can skip the torture that is chemo and radiation therapy. So at that little bit is a good thing.

Hurrah for health! And here's saluting the genes of grandmothers! My maternal line is likewise pretty hearty: lots of creaky joints and other sorts of nuisance problems, but rather sturdy, all in all.

Did the shinies I sent ever arrive? I'm worried they've gone astray...

As for the shinies, the Hildegard von Bingen stuff never arrived. *is sad* I got the nifty sci-fi magazines, though.
