... or has LJ really been quite slow lately?

Especially in the evening, it takes quite the time to load. Other pages do not, so it can't really be my PC, my laptop or my provider, can it?

It's actually better for me than it has been in practically two years. I have a new computer, so can actually access posts behind lj cuts, comment and read! I hope this is just a connectivity/lj problem of short duration for you.

I can't say; I've not been on LJ at all since mid-January. Right now, at least, it doesn't seem to be loading any slower than usual, though.
