This is a desperate plea for help - how did you guess?

People, I'm having problems. My colleagues asked me to find some funny German birthday songs for our boss, who'll become 50 in January. Something that can be easily learned, 'cuz we don't have much time. And I have no idea where to look for it! Help, please?

Also, we are supposed to congratulate a colleague who just became "Best German Teacher of the Year". We need a poem. Some sort of eulogy, preferably a very funny one. I can re-write it accordingly later, but I need a template to work with. Anyone can point me in the direction of the right website? I suck at finding the right search keywords and never get what I need right away, and at the moment, time is running away from me.

HELP, PLEESE?

*is sick like a dog and thus has forgotten to ask for help in time*

Ich hab mal ein bisschen gegoogelt, weil mir spontan kein lustiges Lied einfiel. Vielleicht ist ja was dabei...

Don't worry, the German faction is at work already.

And I'm not that sick. It's just my recurring cold - unpleasant, but not dangerous. Takes at least two weeks to go away, and I'm not supposed to leave the flat, but I'll live.

BTW, got the DVD with the subtitles and watched it yesterday. It was much clearer that way indeed, thank you. The whole film is... well, disturbing would be perhaps the most fitting word for it. I'm sorry to tell you, but even so, I still think that Max was the most likeable character - and I still hate Ada. Supid git. The semi-messianic boy was an annoying brat, too - and the Angels were positively hateful. If that's Heaven, who would need Hell?

I was most unhappy with the ending, though. Had the blonde brat had at least a microscopic piece of backbone, he'd have shattered the frigging Stone Tables to shards and give the Angels the finger, IMO. I so hoped that he'd do it - but nooo, he made a deal with the frigging Angels who'd been manipulating all his life. As if he could have counted on them keeping their word, eh?

Anyway, it was an interesting experience. I'll send you the other disc, the one w/out the subtitles, as soon as I'm no longer confined to quarters. Have a happy New Year!

Ha, so the Post Orcs did their duty for once!

Yes, Quinten's a brat, but the angels remain the true villains. It's a while ago I saw the film, so the reason why I don't particularly like Max and have more understanding for Ada may be in the book. Or maybe not. :P

You don't need to send the other disc back. I'll probably visit Budapest again between now and 2013, so just hand it to me in person!

A happy New Year to you and your mum!

The Angels are awful! And so is God in this story, if they're acting on his behalf, I must say.

Max might screw anyone who doesn't flee on a tree within ten seconds, but - at least in the film - he was, IMO, the most honest character. It did help that the actor was cute, too. *g* Ada, I found mostly annoying.

I don't mind sending the disc back to you (with some chocolate added perhaps?). That way, it won't get lost or broken in my chaos, you can watch it again, and we can go in "loving" detail about the various and abundant faults of the characters. *evil cackle*

Give the girl my love!

The chocolate is very tempting... plus I realise I do want to rewatch the film now. So yes, it would be very nice if you sent it to me.
Valerie's in Utrecht organising some kind of New Year's Event, but Larissa greets you back!
