As promised, below are the pics of the Christmas tree and the cookies.

My cookies (all hand-made):

My short, fat Christmas tree (in mine own image):

By the way, all ornaments are either hand-made by me (especially the garlands) or bought from artisans on fairs:

They're very tasty indeed - and I just can't resist the temptation to include my great-grandmother's 200-something-year-old cabinet in the first picture. It's just too beautiful, don't you think?

Yes, it is! I was admiring the wood's color and the details of the carving. More than 200 years old? Wow!

Yep. Made of the wood of walnut tree - or so those who understand something about it tend to say. We have some glazed earthenware spice containers of about the same age, too. *is proud* Family history at its best!

I like your tree, too - it's very festive!!

You'll have to come over in pre-Christmas days one year - I bake them well in advance. [livejournal.com profile] espresso_addict and Mr. EA certainly enjoyed their visit in Budapest last December. :)

We were lucky with the tree, actually; the branches sit very close to each other, so it is a beautiful one, even unadorned, and the decoration works well surrounded by all that greenery.

And a very merry Christmas to you!

The cookies look great. I don't think the tree looks like you, though :)

Yeah, it's prettier than me. But again, it's a few decades younger, too. *g*

Very pretty! You've set a nice holiday table there.

I'm afraid I played Scrooge this year. I didn't even put a wreath on Himring's door, much less do any baking or set up a tree. Stupid work kept me too busy, alas.

Well, if you're overworked, you're overworked. I'm lucky to have Mum living with me, so that we can divide the pre-holiday activities; besides, it's so much more fun to do these things together!

Mmmmh, the cookies look delicious! Seeing the pics made me hungry. As soon as I'm done replying on LJ, I'm going to grab some cookies *laughs*

The tree looks lovely! It is a very fat one this year, indeed!

They taste really yummy, too - which, considering my weight issues, is not necessarily a good thing. *insert rueful look*

Lovely tree! [crunch crunch]

Pretty garlands! [crunch crunch]

Another package -- directly from me this time -- should be arriving one of these days. [grumble grumble "dratted amazon.com"]

Oh, yes, thank you. A very peaceful one, just Mum and me - the way we like it. Tonight, a buch of relatives are coming over, but somehow we're gonna survive them... or so I hope. *is evil*

The tree is very cute. I like the beaded garlands. The cookies look delicious. I hope you enjoyed your Christmas. I had a great one but now I'm being snowed in by a giant storm which is no fun:(

Ouch! No fun indeed! We have some snow over here, but not too much. Of course, the fact that I'm down with a bad cold would prevent me from going out and play anyway. A good thing that I haven't planned anything for the Christmas break than staying home, relaxing and writing. That I can do, even with the cold stuffing my head with wet cotton.
