I've been busy again...

First and foremost (and I'm really sorry I don't know how to make much, much bigger letters on LJ):
I HAVE FINISHED "SPARROWS"!!!
Yeah, baby, I have! Granted, I still have to type up the last part of Chapter 10 as well as the short epilogue, and then the beta still have to go through it with the fine-toothed comb, but IT'S DONE!!!

Erm. Yes, Sorry for the shouting. But finishing a long-ongoing story is an incredibly good feeling. I'd never have managed to get it done without picowrimo, so a great part of the credit goes to the incredibly nice and supportive people there, as well as to the folks at little_details, who helped out with a few, well, little details. *g*

Oh, ladies and the few guys on my flist, I feel like I'd won the World Cup. Or something like that. Now I can attack "Brothers-in-Arms" in peace. And I put the newly acquired Cadfael bunnies (all three of them) firmly back into the kennel. No new thing will be started before I've finished at least another ongoing WIP, and that's a fact!

*eyes plotbunnies warily*

In other news, I've pre-cooked three different dishes for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so that only the finishing touches will be needed, half-decorated the Christmas tree (only final touches, etc. tomorrow), arranged my 12 sorts of Christmas cookies on a huge tray (made photos, will post them tomorrow, or at least soon) and went to the audiology examination. Go me!

Oh, and I got a shiny from artemis10002000! Postal service must be congratulated this year. All my parcels, the ones I sent and the ones I received, arrived before Christmas Eve. That alone is reason for celebration, right?

Oh, and have I mentioned that I finished "Sparrows"?

I'm happy the shiny arrived in time for Christmas! I didn't think it would. Postal service has truly been doing a good job this year, especially considering the chaotic traffic due to the snow!

We've just finished decorating the Christmas tree as well.

Mine isn't done just yet. I've put on most of the small ornaments, just in case the temperature decides to drop fifteen degrees tomorrow (it wouldn't be anything new), so that I'd be done with the really time-consuming part. Tomorrow, I'll put on the few remaining ones, wrap the garlands around the tree and be happily done.

The shiny is great. I couldn't really read it just yet - the idiot from last time was playing his idiotic video game above my head again - but I'll do so tonight, after "Castle". Mum and I are both devout Castle fans, so this is one of the very few things that we watch together.

I'm just about to post Chapter 08 - the actual Christmas chapter with a Latin choral in it and all - to hiddenrealms. It may take some time until I'm done with the hand coding, but it will definitely be up by tomorrow.

I've got more Cadfael stories, actually. "Vox Angelica" is one, posted both to FF.Net and to hiddenrealms - you might like it, although it's a lot less episode-related and has quite a bunch of original characters, mostly nuns of the Farewell priory and of Godric's Ford.

There is "Brothers-in-Arms", too, but I don't think it would be your cup of tea as it contains a great deal of slash in the first chapter. Not any of the main characters, I respect their integrity too much for that, but still. You can always wait until I post it to FF.Net, after I've edited out the nasty parts. It's basically about the Cuhelyn character from "The Summer of the Danes", and Cadfael doesn't even appear until later chapters.

I'll have to check out your other Cadfael stories then. I've not yet got a copy of "Summer of the Danes" so I'll wait for the ff.net version as I'm waiting for a bargain copy to turn up on e bay. I could skip the slashy bits,it is when it is major characters I get upset as the original writer usually says who they fancy and like you I believe in respecting that.

Actual slashy bits are only in the very first chapter. After that, the worst thing that happens is Cuhelyn grieving for his dead Prince and lover. So, I'd say that after Chapter 1 you'll be quite safe.
