Since I ruined it once last year, the nerv in it gets inflamed at the slightest provocation. The strange thing is *what* it considers as a provocation.

I can type(okay, with a bracer, but still relatively pain free). I can even produce a cake, and that without a bracer. I can lift weights, wring out wet rags, and so on, with barely a little pain...

But I can't write by hand. No more than a couple of lines, before it starts hurting like a bitch. And even that only with a bracer and when my entire forearm lies on the desk.

The problem is: I don't have so much room on my desk. Not with the big ole PC of the size of the Royal Palace occupying most of it and several tons of research stuff covering the rest. When my hand doesn't hurt, I mostly write lying on my front on the sofa, but that's out of the question now.

So, I'm having a free weekend, I'm getting some moderate inspiration, and I can't write it down. *grrrrrrrrr*

And before you ask, yes, I always write down everything longhand first. That's the way I funktion... or don't, as the case is right now.

OUCH! That just bites. Hon, I can sympathize. The neurapathy (thank you chemo) has been killing me lately from my left shoulder all the way down to my left hand.

Well, yeah, it comes and goes and will to so for the foreseeable future, I think. *shrugs*

I hope so, too. In my area of work, not being able to write is a Bad Thing (TM). I have several dozen exercise books to correct every week, when that piles up, the end result is hell on earth.

I'm so sorry to hear your thumb is giving you such pain again! Argh! I have found it difficult to type or write longhand in a brace: it makes the rest of the hand/arm/body shift and adjust such that soon, everything else is achy. Please be good to yourself and let that thumb heal up again. (I'm working on the next chapter of "Awful Mary-Sue" in my head, but it won't be ready in time to cause your head so much pain as to make you forget your thumb!)

Yeah, ain't it a pleasure to feel how the pain croaches up your forearm to the elbow and continues to the shoulder, due to the unnatural posture? *grrrr*

Looking forward to the head pain due to Awful Mary Sue.

So sorry about your thumb, that has got to be frustrating. I hope the pain goes away soon.
