Mum's blood test came back all negative, thank God. Now if only the control CT will be this good, we'll be able to breathe for a while again.

But with our old doctor, it goes to the end, it seems. All of a sudden, he's taken a turn to the worse. He might not come out of hospital anymore. *is sad*

We knew his condition was really serious, but nobody had expected him to live a year after his operation, so we tentatively hoped he'd manage to hold on a little longer.

He'd been our doctor since we moved here in 1977 - mostly for Granny, as Mum and I are rarely ill. He was like a family member... actually, he was a lot closer to us than any family.

Glad to hear about your mom.

Sorry about your doctor. :( I'm the type to want to stick with one doc too.

Well, he's retired some ten years ago but lives in the next street, so we kept contact. It'll be a sad thing to let him go, but considering his current state, it'll be possible better for him. Not for the family, though... or us.

Thanks. I'm very glad about Mum. The poor doctor, well, we knew he won't last forever. Not after they opened him up and didn't dare to operate on him. That he's actually lived another year was unexpected to begin with. Still, we'll miss him, should he truly go in a short time.

It's good to know all's well with your mom so far (at the moment, mine's doing remarkably well, too), but I'm sorry about the doctor. *hugs*

Thanks, Finch. :) I'm glad your Mum's doing well, too. Mothers - what would we do without them?

Great news about your mum! I'm sorry to hear that your friend is so much worse; if it's his time, I hope it's a peaceful one.

We've visited him yesterday, and he was actually doing better! It seems that he had some mild form of stroke, but not one that would lame him or whatnot - I'm not good with those medical expressions, sorry. In any case, he isn't as confused any more, and while he needs to stay in hospital, there is some hope that he may survive the whole thing yet. This is a tough generation.

Mum's going to have her CT within the hour. It isn't a pleasant thing, as she has difficulties lying on her back (which she will have to do), but I hope that will be the worst part of the whole issue. All doctors say that everything should be all right, since all her blood tests came back negative in the last year, but, well, you never know. *crosses fingers*
