The end of fun times *sniff*

So, the_wild_iris left for home today, which is sad, but at least we had a great time. At least I had, and I hope she did, too. I rediscovered things in my own hometown I've not seen for years, and even found things I never knew to exist. Also, hitting the second hand bookshops with her resulted in finding Preciousssesss for myself, too - aside from the rich booty of Dr. Who DVDs she brought me (yay, Martha!). Now I'll have things to watch for several weeks.

Also, we had lots of nice, fannish/geekish talks about Tolkien, Merlin, Dr. Who, Torchwood, medieval literature and history and the likes. I hope her ears will recover, soon, from having to listen to my godawful English for five days.

I still have about a week until school restarts, at least for us teachers - it's shocking, how fast this summer went away.

Yep, it is. At least I can meet the cyberfriends from Europe and the UK. Everyone else lives on the other side of the planet. :(

Oh, it was a great time, absolutely! I love having guests here; it's the only time I get to all the beautiful places in my hometown, myself. And geeky fandom talk is the best you can have.
