Let's see if I can post at all... The Net has been completely unreliable all evening. *sighs*

So, I met to Vienna, to meet the lovely [livejournal.com profile] lissas_elves, and it was a really nice come-together indeed. I so love to meet my online friends in person.

Bought some DVDs: Season 2 of "Heroes" (cos it has Nichelle Nichols), the Dr. Who season with Christopher Eccleston (it was on sale), and the second half of Season 3 of "Andromeda". Have to finish watching Sagan's "Cosmos" first, though.

I'm gonna give this entry a try now. See what happens...

Well, I can see the entry so that seems to have worked. Happy to hear you had a good trip to Vienna; I think I did know on some level that Nichelle Nichols was in Heroes<\i> at some point, but I am not sure even that is enough to tempt me to try season 2 again. I really enjoyed season 1, but I just couldn't get into season 2. And I want some Dr Who box sets, but they keep being full price and a high full price at that in this country. Far too many people buying them I suppose. Curse people for having good taste in DVDs! ;-)

It's completely unpredictable which website I can get access to at the moment *sighs*
I wish I knew what's going on... again.

I mostly watch Heroes for certain characters; not really interested in the actual plot it's way too convulted and confusing, and I'm not that fond of films or series based on comics anyway.

I'd like the 10th Doctor sets with Martha, but they're not available in Vienna at the moment. Just him and Rose, whom I hate, and even that was abysmally expensive.

;) Yay for you getting Heroes season 2!! :)

And if you want to see Doctor Who season 3, let me know! Martha is AWESOME!

(Alternatively, I could help you set up an amazon account - or order what you want on my account and mail it to you, though that would take more time/organisation - again, let me know ;) )

And it was on sale, too! I've already checked all the disk just checked to see whether they're all right, as I still have the last disc from Season 1 to watch - and sqeed upon seeing Nichelle Nichols. She might be as old as my Mum (actually, I think she is, or not much younger), but she's still fantastic, isn't she?

A Dutch friend of mine has sent me all the Dr. Who eps with Jack Harkness in it, so I know Martha is a marvel. That's why I sent her to Atlantis with the rest of the team. Carson Beckett is a cutie, but he can be such a wet noodle sometimes, he needed a strong woman to strengthen his back. Purely professionally, of course. ;)

I'd love to set up an Amazon account, I'm just not really sure whether they accept our curency or don't. A few years ago they didn't, and frankly, I'm a bit technically challenged. Never did this online shopping without help. That is, I only did it once, when I got a gift account from someone, and that was many, many years ago.

It was lovely meeting you!! And I'm still amazed that you'd go through all that trouble so that we could meet - it was incredibly nice of you.

You were right about Vienna, it truly is a lovely city: I'm addicted already. There are so many beautiful sights - one could walk around for days just enjoying the architecture! - and everybody we met were friendly and helpful; they even let me practice my (version of) German on them. *g*

If you liked Vienna, you'd *love* Budapest. The architecture is very similar, but the layout of our city on both banks of the Danube is absolutely unique.
