wiseheartI really wish that people would see more than just my occasional grammar mistakes when I post some Tolkienfic. Dammit, I *would* like to have a beta whose only wish is to iron out my English, but I really don't see them hammering on my front door to be granted the honour.
This fandom always manages to get me depressed, when I happen to have a good day and be happy about finally having finished something.
At times like this I think it would be better never to put up any Tolkienfic ever again. No other fandom is nearly this nitpicky and hostile. You come up with a wholly new idea, with something that hadn't been repeated to death before, and all you get is people picking on your grammar. You do some elaborate world-building, and they tell you that it's slow or boring. You try a different approach on characters, and they tell you the character are OOC.
I'm fed up to my eyeteeth with this fandom. People only seem to read to find mistakes.
