We're back from our Swiss/French trip. It was incredible; but also incredibly exhausting. I'll tell you more about it later, I swear.

I also read "The Black Arrow" by Stevenson on the trip (long bus rides...) and was considerably less impressed. Understanding the language was hard enough, but I found the plot fairly primitive, I'm sorry. *ducks from flying rotten tomatoes*

Mum took all hardships of the trip in stride, and that barely ten months after her operation. That woman is a marvel.

Welcome back!

Yeah, seeing my grandmother get older and older and needing more surgery... I'm also impressed by your mom.

Thanks. :)

Old people can be amazing sometimes, can't they?

Welcome back! How was "Halabor"? ;)

I also find the things my great-grandma can still do at ninety very impressivwe indeed, so I can imagine what it might be like with your mum.

"Halabor" was fantastic, although the time spent there was woefully short. But Chillon Castle was absolutely amazing, too... I think I've found my model for Dol Amroth!

Welcome back! I'm so happy to hear you had a good, though exhausting, time and that your mum handled the stress of the trip well.

She turned 78 in January. But yeah, being back again is a good thing, too. I find that the older I turn, the more I miss my own bed after a while. *g*

I've seen things almost too beautiful to express in words, but I'll try my best.
