Back and bearing gifts

I'm back for about a week before we'll set off for our actual holidays. These few days in Transylvania were quite interesting, though. Mum had immense amounts of fun on her school reunion, and I got to see all the places my ancestors used to live in the previous century. Speak about family history!
In any case, I've been picking up an old story, Blood and Fire, which I've been planning to write for a very long time. It's based on David Gerrold's rejected TNG script that included an AIDS allegory and a same-gender romance on the sideline. Geez, one wonders why it got rejected, right?
As I said, the story has been in the back of my mind for quite some time, but I've lately stolpered over the fan-made Original Trek series "Star Trek - The New Voyages", also known as "Phase II". David Gerrold has rewritten his old script for this series, also adapting it to the TOS crew instead of the TNG one, and I think it's a terrific movie. the_wild_iris comes she'll teach me how to download the stuff, so that I can watch it properly.
So I've picked up the story and posted the Prelude (lissas_elves will remember of it) and Chapter 01 to ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
otherworlds_lib. The Prelude is a locked entry, since it's easily the most explicit piece I've ever written - although, if you make the effort to join the comm, which will enable you to read it, will see that it's not entirely gratutious. Or so I hope. If you aren't a slash fan, though, you can simply read the following chapters, which are either G-rated, or somewhat higher for the horror element that will eventually follow.
I haven't written TNG-fic for a very long time. Comments from TNG-fans are welcome; I'm curious how far I've managed to match the characters. It's not an easy feat, as TNG characters are generally fairly bland.
