Gah! Where have the last ten days gone? Real Life and Torchwoodgate are eating me alive!

Anyway, I'm considering to partake in the MEFAs again, if lissas_elves is willing to give me a hand. Yeah, I'm a sucker for punishment, why are you asking? But since I haven't been able to write a single line of Tolkienfic for months by now, I thought perhaps if I get a few positive comments for my older stuff, and with summer holidays finally coming up, I might get back into the spirit of the Tolkienverse again.

I'm not aiming to actually win anything; not that it wouldn't be nice, of course, but the main goal is to remind potential readers that I'm still alive. I've long ago lost any illusions I might have in this fandom at the beginning, but finding at least a handful of readers again would be wholesome.

Of course, I'm taking the coward's way out again, employing the poor, golden-hearted lissas_elves to e-mail me the positive comments. My skin is just not thick enough to deal with nasty remarks.


Other than that, we're still alive. Under the current circumstances, it's a real achievement. God, I'm so very tired, both physically and emotionally, it's not even funny!

Roughly three weeks yet. *sighs*

After which we'll go to Transylvania to Mum's school reunion, after which I'll have to escorts kids to summer camp, after which we'll go on holidays to Switzerland...

If everything goes okay, I'll collapse on July 10 and won't get up again for about five or six weeks at all.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel so drained, but then this is a difficult time of the year for a teacher, isn't it, with the exams and all the stress surrounding them? Not up to date on what's going on in RL, but I hope the situation improves soon.

It's nothing particularly bad in itself. It's just as you say: the last big attack around the end of term (tests, statistics and the likes), kids being tired and crazy, teachers being even more tired and crazy, everyone anxious for everything to end... that sort of stuff.

At least the heat wave came late this year and we could actually work in May. When it's 30+ degrees outside, nothing really goes anymore. We aren't quite there just yet, thank God.

If the weather is everywhere as nice, people probably will spend a lot of time outside on the weekend. But still, yeah, posting on the weekend seems to be a good bet.

You had nice weather? We had stormy rain and lots of related unpleasantness. It seems the English-speaking countries had nice weather, too...

MEFAs are always fun for the reviews, never mind how well a story places. If you've got pieces that are eligible, go for it! The deadline for having everything filled out is June 21, so don't dawdle.

Have just finished filling out the forms and sent an e-mail to Aranel with apologies for the likely mistakes. *g*

Lissa and Tessy nominated a lot of stories between the two of them - I've decided to dig out some older stuff each year, so that people who probably weren't alive yet when I started writing Tolkienfic might get a chance to read it. Perhaps in time I'll be able to write it again. *hopes*
