wiseheart: (Lancelot)

Yes, I am, honestly. After having ranted how much I'm not interested in "Heroes", I finally gave in and bought the first 11 episodes on DVD. Okay, they were on sale at the local Auchan, but still.

The reason, you ask? Two reasons, actually. They're called Santiago Cabrera and S. Ramamurthy. I like Leonard Roberts, too, even since his youthful days in "Buffy", but it's mostly for the two aforementioned reason.

Yeah, I know. Just how pathetic is that?

I could argue, of course, that I've adapted Ramamurthy's character for "Torchwoodgate", and so I need to know how he moves and what his voice sounds like, but let's face it - I'm shallow. Had I realized that my beloved Lancelot was on "Heroes", I'd probably have given in a lot earlier. That's how shallow I really am.

But again, even ageing ladies like me need something to ogle from time to time, so it's perhaps not that bad, after all. And who knows, I might actually enjoy "Heroes". Who knows? Perhaps I just caught a particularly uninteresting part on German TV when I decided not to follow it.

Addition, aka another-book-that-I-must-have:
Entanglements by Martha Wells

An SGA novel featuring Miko Kusanagi, apparently. Since Martha Wells also wrote "Repository", my all-time-favourite SGA novel, this one must be really good, too. At least the excerpt I read on the Amazon website looks promising.

Nothing wrong with ogling. ;-)

I hope the show doesn't disappoint.

Yeah, well, what else do I get at my old age, eh? *g*

Nice icon, BTW. Who's the Hottt Elf?
Speaking of which, should we ever pick up the Lórien Soap Opera RPG again, would you be interested in picking up an abandoned character?

Yeah, at our age, ogling does seem to offer the best chances of success. Hmm.

The icon's supposed to be Glorfindel. A little too angsty-looking, but otherwise not far whom how I imagine him. Hott indeed! *g*

About the RPG: I'm sorry, but I'm afraid it's not my thing. Plus my online presence is sporadic at best. :-(

Well, it was worth a try. Was a fairly slow thing anyway. Perhaps you've already seen it on the Otherworlds forum.

The first season of Heros is really fun. Enjoy!

You mean the rest is crap? *g*

If I happen to like the first 11 episodes, I'll have to hunt down the rest of the season as well. *sighs*

The first half of season 2 isn't anywhere are good as season 1, although it's watchable; I can't say anything more because the writers' strike occurred in the middle of season 2, and that got me to fall out of watching Heros. I've heard from folks who did stick with the show that from season 3 on things become painful, but your mileage may vary.

Oh, I see. I Googled a little, of course, and was fairly shocked when I read what was going to happen to Mohinder, but it isn't likely that I'll ever get so far, so it's okay.

I really hated "The Fly". It was an interesting enough movie, but the ick factor was too high for my weak stomach. So, not gonna wait for the same effect in "Heroes".

Don't Google too much, or you'll spoil your fun! But nothing bad happens to Mohinder in season one, so you're safe for now.

Oh, I don't mind being spoiled. Actually, I prefer to know the end, otherwise I'll be too nervous to pay the details any attention. I'm the person who looks up the end of a book before reading it - when I know what will happen, I can lean back comfortably and enjoy the story.

Weird, I know.

Which reminds me: I need a Mohinder icon. Must go hunting on the Net.

SGA book

I saw your post just before we headed to the bookstore, so I checked. Alas! they don't have it on the shelves, only by online order. Why don't you update your various fandom book wishes and e-mail me a copy, so I can keep an eye out. Also, I saw a Torchwood fan mag -- would that be of interest? (Hint: with The Beloved still out of work, I am looking for a couple small gifts for a school's-out-summer-is-here package for you.)

Awww, spoiling time ahead - how sweet of you!

Will send you the updated wishlist - just got a whole library of original Trek novels from [livejournal.com profile] altariel the Generous, so I really need to update the thing.

As for the Torchwood mag - I fear that it would be all about Gwen Cooper, so probably not worth of your hard-earned cash. BTW, remember the last one you sent me w. Jack Harkness in it? I made that big picture the virtual cover of the Torchwoodgate series. Well, I will, if [livejournal.com profile] archet can be talked into photo-manipulating the Atlantis Stargate behind Jack. ;)

I still watch Heroes but the first season was definitely the best. It goes downhill from there. I was annoyed at what happened to Mohinder later on. He was better as the non-powered observer/helper of the super-powered people.

Yeah, I know. I Googled a little to find out what happens later. Definitely hate the part that most people get killed as things progress. I ask myself what actually the reason is to come up with all these super-powered people when they're murdered sooner or later anyway.Whether the creators *had* a concept behind the whole thing at all, or just liked to play around with the characters because they are cool. Like little girls with dolls.

I hope you enjoy Heroes! I still haven't seen it, but my coworkers were always talking about how good the first season was. (Although I think S.C.'s character is a heroin addict, so he might not look his best...)

New film trailer if you're interested. It's in Spanish. I have no idea what they're saying. But the music is nice.

Well, I'm of two minds about it. Some aspects I liked a lot, other aspects I really hated, and there were some things that simply confused me, even with Hungarian subtitles that I don't seem to be able to switch off.

Yes, Cabrera's charcter is a junkie and will have a terrible fate eventually, I read somewhere on the Net, but he's still hot. That beautiful hair... that they made him cut it for 2nd season Merlin is a capital offence.
