Mum and me decided to do a traditional Christmas tree this year - the kind with blown glass ornaments and stuff, as it was in her childhood - and mine, too.

Personally, I prefer the style from last year - it's more natural, more balanced and, IMO, more pretty. But Mum was feeling nostalgic, and I wanted to do her the favour.

Both Christmas trees look nice (we use a different combination of colours each year, but the kind of decorations is always the same), and the cookies make my mouth water. I hope you and your mother had a wonderful Christmas day!

It was nice and quiet, thanks. The relatives paid us a thankfully short visit today, but other than that, we were on our own - just the way we like it.

Red and white, with a dash of silver (heraldically speaking, this is white, too).
