Okay, since I don't have all the pics yet, I give you the link to the photo gallery of our school's website. For those who haven't met me yet, I'm the chubby woman with the glasses on the third photo.

You won't find me on many of the pics. The colleague who has elbowed herself into the project without really asking me if I wanted her with her other baking project in the same kitchen at the same time was the one who had the camera, and a kid of her class made the photos. Consequently, she's to be seen on most of them. Never mind that I was the one who organised the whole thing and did ninety-eight per cent of the work. One could believe it was her project, right?

Ah, well, I still enjoyed myself. The last four pics on Page 2 were made by me, where the kids sell their wares. It's annoying that another person shows off with my idea and my hard work, but we all know what life is like, don't we?

I'll eventually lock this post, just in case some nosy colleague finds my journal, but I wanted the pics to be available to all who are interested first. It's sad that one has to be so careful, but that, too, is life.

These pics look great!

Yeah, I can totally understand that you're annoyed that your colleague just elbowed into this *hug*

Yeah, none of the glory thieves ever get that part right. Didn't they hear yet that stealing hard work is the new stealing diamonds? *mock sad sigh*

Oh, hello! I haven't met you yet, and it's lovely to see you!

I'm sorry about the issues with your colleague. It's frustrating, when you've put so much work into the project yourself. But I'm glad that you enjoyed yourself, and I hope that the kids enjoyed it, too.

Oh, you know, being used and then dropped like a hot potato when it comes to collect the laurels is something I could call the story of my life. I won't let the stupid bitches make me lose the joy in my work, though - even if it's hard sometimes.

The kids enjoyed the chaos very much - one group has sold all of their cakes and thus raised the money for their class's Christmas party and are verry happy about it. They already asked if we'd do something like this next year again.

Lovely pics! Cookies look absolutely yummy. XD

It was a really good idea you came up with, and I'm sorry to hear that your colleague elbowed her way into it. Still, what really matters is that you and the children enjoyed it - and I could tell from the photos you did! - and that you made some money for a worthy cause.

I did indeed, and so did the kids. As for the stupid b*tch - some people have been born that way. It's inevitable, like bad weather.

mmm those baked goods (cinnamon whirls, gingerbread men and what is it that's being rolled up in some of the pics?) you are making look really pretty and very likely to be yummy. :D

I forget, was this to teach the kids baking and funness or baking for charity cake sale?

Actually, we were trying to introduce the St. Martin's tradition to our kids. It's very strong in Germany, but practically nonexistent in Hungary, although the good saint was born in Savaria, which is now the Hungarian city Szombathely.

Also, we are a school that offers extended German tutoring for the local national minority, so German traditions should be kept here. The raising of money was just a pleasant side benefit for the kids.
