ff.net's been doing that for days. No one's been able to upload anything. And I'm not sure the Review system is working properly, either. Guess we have to be patient (or impatient) and wait.
Wasn't it during July last year when the server crashed for 6 weeks? Maybe this is an annual thing!
Wasn't it during July last year when the server crashed for 6 weeks? Eeeeeeeeek! I can't wait that long...! *frets* I suspect the Harry Potter and LotR sections are some of the main causes. It never used to do this, ya know, back in the old days of '99... :(
In a wierd, sick sort of way, that prolonged ff.net crash was fun. Everyone got desperate, so we all wound up posting our story updates in our files over on Silmfics, and then reviewing and discussing the new stories on the list. It definitely made Silmfics very lively!
I have a theory! Maybe the Document Manager is able to cope with uploading some LoTR fics right now because at ff.net they're highly likely to be badfics, and the fangirls don't use many big words (well, except for the ubiquitous multisyllabic names for their OFCs)? Stories which actually feature proper paragraph formatting and contain varied punctuation marks (other than the usual rows of !!!), sentences with complex structures and multiple clauses, and many words with more than two syllables, on the other hand, are simply too much for the poor Document Manager to handle in its current weakened state.

I,on the other hand, failed to succeed just ten minutes ago. Again. [insert *very* rude thoughts here]
