Sorry for the late update - life's been a tad busy lately.

Mum's been operated last Thursday and bears it, to quote her doctor, "surprisingly good". It wasn't a small one, but hopefully, she's on her way to getting better... at least I've begun to hope tentatively. Yesterday she was up and walking around for a quarter of an hour or so, and while there are still five different tubes attached to different parts of her body, she isn't in too much discomfort.

Now we're waiting for the new test results. They'll show whether she'll need any further therapy or they've caught the problem just in time and managed to clean out everything. *crosses fingers*

I still don't know when she'll be able to leave the hospital. The wounds are still cleaning through the tubes and need to heal some more. I'd like to have her at home as soon as possible; OTOH, too soon wouldn't be good, either. Not as long as she still needs medical supervision, which I can't provide. We'll see.

Thanks for the support, the prayers and the good thoughts to everyone, in her name as well as in mine. It's far from over yet, but I'm breathing just a little bit easier.

So glad to hear she has come through that part so well!
It is understandable that you want her at home, but hopefully by the time she is safely installed there again, you won't be so very anxious.

Good Thoughts and Positive Vibes continuing!

Thank you for letting us know how things are going. I'm very glad that the news so far is good, and especially that it sounds as though she's *feeling* better than she was. I hope she continues well - and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the test results...

I'm glad the surgery went well. If the tumor was small, this may well be the end of it all. Let's hope so!

We're back from the seashore, and I am SO glad for you and Mum that things have gone as well as they have so far. It's wonderful news that she is able to be up and walking a little bit: that's a good sign and will help her recovery (our bodies weren't meant to lie in bed for days on end, no matter how delightful the idea may sound sometimes!). You are wise to recognize the limits on what you can do for her and to not rush her return home: better to be sure she is ready, rather than end up having to go back because she left too soon. Sending you warm hugs and healing wishes to your Mum!
