I'm sick and tired, in the simplest physical sense of the word. Got my coughing fits again, and my chest hurts sometimes, which might be related. It's not too bad yet, though, so I hope Aspirin will help.

The really bad news is that Mum's latest blood test turned out with the same bad liver enzyme function again. So her neurologist decided to gradually take her off her medication - the one that had kept her symptom free for over eight years. I hope they'll find another one that works without damaging her liver.

It really sucks. The blackouts eight years ago were frightening. The last thing we'd need is a repeat performance. I'm scared shitless.

First term earns this week. Recent times had been crazy. I hope I'll be able to have something semblance to a life from next week on.

Not much. I take my inhaler a little more often - every day, instead of every other day (the prescription allows for this). Otherwise, I just sit it out.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's problems. Unfortunately, strong medicines often cause serious adverse affects. :-(

Coughing a lot does tend to make one's chest hurt, because the muscles get overworked. That's probably it. My mantra usually is 'remember to drink lots of water'.

Hugs to both of you!

Lissa (at home today with sore throat+fever)

Oh dear, I am so sorry. :(
Please look after yourself, and I hope that a good alternative treatment can be found for your mother!

Hugs!

Not really. But I've only started on medication, so I can't really expect much just yet.I set my hopes on the weekend.

Oh, it is an antibiotic job? :( At least you will be getting better gradually.

Hugs!

No, just some coughing syrup of questionable appeal. But it seems to ease my chest a little.

Belated HUGS and well wishes to you, and to your mother. I do hope the best for her, and hope you yourself are getting better, again, soon! *Manyhuggles*

Thanks, Aislynn. With me, it's not really an illness, it's rather a condition. It catches me every year at some time... at least it had in the last five or so years. Is probably a reminder of the chronic bronchitis I used to have as a child. That, and the fact that the idiot colleagues so love leave the windows open in my back.

Mum's another matter entirely, but we're hoping the doctors will find an alternate medicine for her.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I hope (with eight years' greater knowledge) that they can find a safe alternative medication.

Hope you're nursing your cough and that the symptoms are getting better. If the pain gets too uncomfortable, perhaps your doctor could prescribe something that suppresses the cough reflex?

Actually, I got myself a fairly good coughing syrup that seems to help. It tastes abysmally, of course, but that's just a small price, eh?

As for Mum, yeah, I hope for the same. Those blackout episodes of hers a few years ago were downright frightening.

How are you doing, by the way?

Another late response from me, but I hope this note finds you feeling better and your mother stabilizing as she switches medications.

I second your hope for a more sane workload for you. I know mine won't be -- bringing on 3 new sites on one project and doing initial analyses for both projects -- but I work for people who appreciate and support me, which makes all the difference.

I'll have to notify TPTB that you are to have more free time. I have FINALLY assembled the Christmas-New Year-Valentine's Day-Spring Equinox package. It's all in a big shopping bag, and I will take it to the Post Office this week to find out the best way to ship it to you. It's heavy enough that I am sure I can't afford to send it by air with our current household income situation (the Beloved is still furloughed and only finding occasional freelance work, despite applying lots of places), so I will apologize in advance for making you wait longer. But I promise you: there is something for each of several of your fandoms in this package!

You're really spoiling me too much, my friend. You shouldn't spend your hard-earned money quite so generously, you know. I will be extremely happy and grateful whenever it arrives, and I'm biting my nails with anxiety until it does.

*hugs*
