Well... life, I guess
Jan. 20th, 2009 10:12 pmI'm sick and tired, in the simplest physical sense of the word. Got my coughing fits again, and my chest hurts sometimes, which might be related. It's not too bad yet, though, so I hope Aspirin will help.
The really bad news is that Mum's latest blood test turned out with the same bad liver enzyme function again. So her neurologist decided to gradually take her off her medication - the one that had kept her symptom free for over eight years. I hope they'll find another one that works without damaging her liver.
It really sucks. The blackouts eight years ago were frightening. The last thing we'd need is a repeat performance. I'm scared shitless.
First term earns this week. Recent times had been crazy. I hope I'll be able to have something semblance to a life from next week on.

Date: 2009-01-21 11:52 am (UTC)Coughing a lot does tend to make one's chest hurt, because the muscles get overworked. That's probably it. My mantra usually is 'remember to drink lots of water'.
Hugs to both of you!

Date: 2009-01-22 05:16 pm (UTC)Mum's another matter entirely, but we're hoping the doctors will find an alternate medicine for her.

Date: 2009-01-24 09:39 am (UTC)Hope you're nursing your cough and that the symptoms are getting better. If the pain gets too uncomfortable, perhaps your doctor could prescribe something that suppresses the cough reflex?

Date: 2009-01-24 09:59 am (UTC)As for Mum, yeah, I hope for the same. Those blackout episodes of hers a few years ago were downright frightening.
How are you doing, by the way?

Date: 2009-02-01 11:36 pm (UTC)I second your hope for a more sane workload for you. I know mine won't be -- bringing on 3 new sites on one project and doing initial analyses for both projects -- but I work for people who appreciate and support me, which makes all the difference.
I'll have to notify TPTB that you are to have more free time. I have FINALLY assembled the Christmas-New Year-Valentine's Day-Spring Equinox package. It's all in a big shopping bag, and I will take it to the Post Office this week to find out the best way to ship it to you. It's heavy enough that I am sure I can't afford to send it by air with our current household income situation (the Beloved is still furloughed and only finding occasional freelance work, despite applying lots of places), so I will apologize in advance for making you wait longer. But I promise you: there is something for each of several of your fandoms in this package!
